There are always lessons...

I am so grateful for my cast and their willingness to try new things with me.  This past weekend's event was certainly a learning experience.  I am sorry to those whose children were not seen because of my not fully understanding how the stream was going to happen.  I wish you saw my screen, it was perfect by the end, with those that were performing filling the screen, and I realize now that that isn't what you were able to see, I have learned so much through this asynchronous learning process.  We put out one fire with the sound not coming through consistently and loud enough and ended up creating another hazard...isn't that always the way.  Nevertheless, the process was really more for the kids and on the backside they could see, interact and share this moment with each other and I do believe they enjoyed it!  It filled my heart for sure but my sincere apologies that it didn't translate exactly as intended.

The last piece of the puzzle and to experience their real time singing (this weekend's show was them acting to the rehearsal tracks).  However, I will need their buy in to produce individual singing videos and submit them to me by Thursday the 14th.  I will send the backing tracks via the Musical Google Classroom.  This will give you, and them, one final keep sake with ALL of the submitted videos compiled to produce what has been toted as a virtual chorus experience.

Thank you for bearing with me in this odd musical year...sadly, I think virtual chorus might be a sneak peek at the coming days.  I pray I am wrong, for there is nothing that can replace the community and singing experience together and in person.

I hope everyone is well, that all the moms had a wonderful Mother's Day, and that for better or worse you were able to tune in and enjoy a little of the theater magic on Saturday evening.

Thank you everyone, Kristen Chapman
